The best parts of summer

I have been doing a lot of complaining this summer about all the things I have to do, but there have been quite a few bright moments.

At the end of the day

Berries picked from the bush outside.

the right spot

The whole entire beach to ourselves to sleep in the sand and BBQ.

on the road

A couple of road trips.

Costume National

A1

I love the simple, minimalist style of Ennio Capasa for Costume National. Straightforward neutrals black and grey are elegant and versatile, they go with anything in any season.

Kitchen Beadboard

We have been doing some home renovations and I have been introduced to beadboard. I have seen it before of course, but was not really interested. It sort of seemed like a step up from the wood wall paneling of bygone days. However there are fresh modern takes on it, it gives a warm home sort of feel, it covers a multitude of flaws on the wall and my very favourite part.... it is easy as pie to put up.

Autumn Fashion

A1

I have been looking forward to autumn fashion all summer, because I like the layers worn during autumn and also the summer has been a lot of work for me. Pictured is the fall ready to wear line from J. Crew. The elements I like the most are the tweed jackets, the feminine details, the pieces (of hopefully faux) fur and the long fingerless gloves.

Small Quilt Inspiration

Time to try quilting! Quilts are so beautiful - they can really add something wonderful to a room. Perhaps I will start by making a doll or baby sized quilt like these, I know a few little girls who would certainly be appreciative!

Ripple Afghan

Colourful Baby Afghan Folded

The ripple afghan was surprisingly easy to make, warm and colourful! How can you go wrong? There are lots of free patterns all over the internet - complete with the ability to adjust the size of the blanket that you want to make. This baby sized blanket was quick to crochet and makes for a fantastic gift.
